2016 US PGA Championship
The 2016 US PGA Championship was held at Baltusrol Golf Club in New Jersey from 28th - 31st July. It was the 98th edition of the tournament and it was moved from its usual spot in August to July to accommodate the addition of golf to the Olympics.
Jimmy Walker took the early lead with a fine round of 65 as he ended the opening day one shot clear of Ross Fisher, Martin Kaymer and Emiliano Grillo. A couple of the pre-tournament favourites had days to forget though as Rory McIlroy signed for a four-over-par 74 and Dustin Johnson ended the day seven over par.
Walker was joined at the head of the leaderboard by a record-tying Robert Streb, who hit a brilliant 63. Jason Day was lurking ominously two shots behind the pair..
Dangerous weather conditions meant that the third round was split over the Saturday and Sunday, with Walker moving into the outright lead at eleven-under-par, one shot clear of defending champion Day.
Walker was impeccable on the final day as he didn't make a single bogey (or worse), with the American successfully going wire-to-wire in New Jersey.
