The Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Hoylake, will host the 2014 Open Championship from 17th July and it will be the twelfth time that this venue has hosted the British major. The tournament was last held here in 2006, when Tiger Woods claimed his third Claret Jug after acknowledging the need for a strategic approach to the event, while Hoylake was also the host as far back as 1897.
The course measures 7,218 yards and it is a par-72, although it is worth noting that the order of the holes has changed since 2006, with what was previously the 16th now the final 18th hole.
