Lee Westwood looks well placed for the weekend after two good rounds have left him on -2 which is just three behind the leaders at the halfway stage. Westwood is still looking for his first Major and looks in good form for an assault on the Claret Jug.
Lee Westwood has been in fine form in recent weeks and heads to Turnberry full of confidence as he attempts to win the first Major Championship of his career. Westwood has been paired with Tiger Woods in the first two rounds but is experienced enough to not let that phase him and many punters think this could be the week for the Englishman.
Westwood has played well in recent weeks with a good second place in the Open De France followed up by another good placing in the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond to leave him full of confidence. He played a poor 1st round at Loch Lomond but followed that up with three excellent rounds and looked to be peaking at just the right time for his home Major.
Although Westwood is yet to win a Major he is still an experienced player at the top level with some big wins under his belt as well as several Ryder Cup appearances in the bag. He has a good record in the Ryder Cup over the last ten years so is used to being under the intense pressure that the Open will bring.
